STARGATE ON THIS EARTH

On 21.12.2003 The town Alor Setar has been declared as a city so the spelling name change was made Alor Setar to Alor Star (Alor Setar is the capital of Kedah State) in which my personal opinion was the most correct way in pronouncing the town name = Star (not Setar, actually according to local dialect its Staq because all ‘r’ is pronounced as ‘q’). 

During this name period ‘Alor Star’ - YIKED-DXN Development (link1) start its Commercial And Housing Project near the south entrance of  Alor Star from the North-South Highway and they decided to name this housing development  ‘STARGATE’. 

In 14.1.2009 they decided to change to its original spelling Alor Setar. But I still think Star suited better lol!

Now they already have a Tesco Stargate (link2) in which I always go to buy groceries lol! and some shops. Housing area has not started develop yet.

These pics are the surrounding shops and housing project. The last picture is a shop name Nasi Ayam Stargate = Stargate Chicken Rice . I’ve tried it, taste like ‘Stargate’  :P
